The battery from the GPL series represents a top-tier solution for backup power with a design life of up to 10 years at 25 °C. It uses advanced VRLA-AGM (Valve Regulated Lead Acid with Absorbent Glass Mat) technology, which ensures efficient gas recombination of up to 99% and completely maintenance-free operation.
With a nominal capacity of 40 Ah and a voltage of 12 V, the battery is ideal for use in UPS systems, electronic fire systems (EPS), security systems, and telecommunications applications. The pure lead construction with proprietary elements and compact dimensions 197 × 170.4 × 165 mm allow easy installation even in limited space.
Technology and Construction
The battery uses advanced VRLA-AGM technology with an absorbent glass separator ensuring safe and maintenance-free operation. The pure lead construction with proprietary components guarantees high cycle durability and long service life. The valve-regulated design allows efficient gas recombination up to 99%, eliminating the need to refill the electrolyte.
Charging and Operation
For float charging, the recommended voltage is 13.5–13.8 V at 25 °C, and for equalization charging 14.4–15.0 V. The maximum charging current is 12 A. The battery shows low self-discharge – less than 10% after 90 days of storage at 25 °C, and it can be stored up to 6 months before recharging is required.
Applications and Compatibility
The battery is designed for float operation in backup applications and is used by leading manufacturers such as Powerware, APC, Liebert, MGE, Riello, IBM, and others. It meets strict requirements regarding uniform physical properties of individual cells, ensuring high reliability in series or series-parallel configurations.
