UNAS Pro 4 represents an advanced solution for data storage and sharing in enterprise environments. The device offers four bays for 3.5" HDD or 2.5" SSD with hot-swap support and two M.2 NVMe slots for SSD cache up to 4 TB capacity, ensuring fast access to frequently used data and lower latency for random operations.
Network connectivity is provided by two 10G SFP+ ports for high-speed data transfer and redundant connectivity, complemented by a GbE RJ-45 port for management. The device is equipped with a quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A57 processor at 2.0 GHz and 8 GB of RAM. The SGCC steel construction with dimensions of 442.4 × 400 × 43.7 mm is designed for mounting in a 19" rack.
Data Protection and Backup
The system offers comprehensive data protection through RAID redundancy, disk encryption, and regular snapshots for restoring previous file versions. It supports backups to additional UNAS devices via SMB/CIFS, as well as to popular cloud services including Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, and Wasabi.
Data Access
Files can be accessed through UniFi Site Manager or directly using the SMB protocol via UniFi Drive on desktop. For remote access, the Identity Endpoint application is available on desktop and mobile platforms, allowing connection from anywhere without requiring a license.
Performance Optimization
SSD cache significantly accelerates random access operations, which is ideal for file sharing between multiple computers in office environments, virtualization workloads, media work requiring frequent file reads, or database applications with high IOPS requirements. Cache performance increases with the number of concurrent accesses.
